Their target: <a href=\"https:\/\/happylungsproject.org\/about-ret\/\">RET-positive, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)<\/a>, which typically affects a younger, non-smoking population.<\/p>\r\n<p>Lead doctors at Stanford, MD Anderson, Harvard, and Memorial Sloan Kettering are working together to identify the most urgent research priorities in the treatment of RET-driven NSCLC. By sharing their research ideas and data, they hope to address gaps in existing knowledge and develop more effective therapies. The group will also support a multi-center RET registry of de-identified patient information, which will facilitate clinical trials of new treatments.<\/p>\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/happylungsproject.org\/board\/\">Dr. Steven Artandi<\/a> from the Stanford Cancer Institute and <a href=\"https:\/\/happylungsproject.org\/board\/\">Dr. John Heymach<\/a> from MD Anderson Cancer Center will lead a task force to identify <a href=\"https:\/\/happylungsproject.org\/research\/\">RET research projects<\/a> and the costs associated with them. She assists with the development of RET research funding proposals and coordinates collaborations between the academic investigators and commercial contractors. In addition, she helps lung cancer patients and their families in the understanding of the RET positive lung cancer biology and the potential treatment options available.
